Grace Mugabe is a qualified CPA and Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) with extensive financial, analytical and accounting experience ranging from small business to industry leading multinational mining and resources corporations.
Hailing from a corporate background including a senior Accounting role with Rio Tinto, Grace has always had a passion for financial literacy.
She started a for-purpose boutique consultancy called Financially Empowered to provide practical and comprehensive financial education that is affordable and accessible for women and disenfranchised communities. Financially Empowered also assists women in business to become familiar and overcome any fears associated with handling their own finances.
Her consultancy continues to attract government, private industry and not for profit clients.
Grace was a finalist in the 2019 Women in Finance Awards for the ‘Women’s Community Program of the Year’ recognizing her Money Matters for Migrants initiative. In 2018, Grace was awarded a grant & scholarship from the Layne Beachley Foundation to help her create financial literacy workshops and resources for migrant women in Australia. In addition she was finalist in the 2017 United Nations Association of Australia (WA) ‘Excellence in Gender Equity Promotion’ Award.
She is an alumni of the 2019 ygap First Gens program, 2017 Hive Global Leaders program held at Harvard, 2016 Leadership WA Rising Leaders Program and 2015 & 2016 LEAP program held at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
Grace is an ambassador for Behind the Brands, a hub for female entrepreneurs in Western Australia. Known for her ability to connect, engage and contribute greatly to her clients, Grace has been featured in various media platforms as a Financial Literacy and Budgeting expert.
